George Takei Ties the Knot
We’ve been having a lot of marriage talk here lately, but I thought this was definitely worth a post. In a classy ceremony this week, 71 year old George Takei aka Sulu from StarTrek married his partner of the last 21 years, Brad Altman. In attendance were former co-stars Nichelle Nicole and Walter Koenig.
The Washington Post Reports:
The couple, both clad in white dinner jackets with black pants, made a grand entrance to the tune of “One Singular Sensation” from the Broadway musical “A Chorus Line.” They stepped into a circle of yellow roses and lilies, where they shared a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and were wed by a Buddhist priest.
As a Star Trek junkie and advocate of gay rights, I send out a sincere congrats to the couple and (you knew it was coming) may they “Live Long and Prosper!”
