It’s been a while I know!!! Things have been busy around here, sorry! But let’s jump right back into it with this Kelly Clarkson gossip….
“I get that all the time. People are like, ‘Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I’d really love it,’” Clarkson told AOL’s Pop Eater website in an interview released Tuesday. ”Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I’m like, ‘I’m glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because often times men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.’ I could never be a lesbian.”
Last September, Idol second-season runner-up Clay Aiken finally confirmed that he’s gay — something Clarkson said she heard about while on vacation.
“He called and he just said, ‘You’ll probably get a lot of calls about this, but I just wanted to give you a heads up,’” recalled Clarkson. “I honestly don’t care if he is gay or isn’t gay, and I don’t care if he tells people or doesn’t tell people. I’m not friends with him for either of those reasons. If I’m a fan of an artist, I don’t really care if you’re gay or not gay, as long as you’re making cool music.”
In addition to setting the record straight that she’s not a lesbian, Clarkson added that she would ideally like to date a man who has his “own life” so he doesn’t “get wrapped up” in her work.
“I would never want to date [someone like] myself, ever. I’m a crazy person. I need some kind of stable, quiet man,” she told Pop Eater. “I don’t really care if you’re black, white, yellow, gay, straight, crazy, whatever. As long as you’re cool and you like the music, and you’re coming out to have a good time at the shows, I don’t really care. I have everything I just said in my family, so I’m just used to being surrounded by that. I just don’t know any different.”
Despite being aware of what she needs from a man, Clarkson reiterated her earlier 2007 interview comments that she’s never been in love.
“I get asked about that and I’m like, ‘Is that odd?’ I’m only 26 years old,” she told the website. “Everyone’s like, ‘Well, it’s weird that you’ve never been in love,’ and I’m like, ‘Well, maybe y’all just fall in love too quickly. Have you ever thought about that?’ I’d rather have quality than quantity.”
In addition, Clarkson said she’s been watching Idol’s eighth-season episodes but it hasn’t been to scope out the show’s current crop of talent.
“Kara DioGuardi, the new judge, is one of my friends,” Clarkson told popeater.com. “So I watch it to see her. Kara’s very opinionated and blunt. She’s such a kick-ass vocalist and writer. I thought it was kinda cool that they brought her on to freshen up the show.”
